Aboriginal Clapsticks (Skeenarang Booma)

Aboriginal Clapsticks (Skeenarang Booma)

by Skeenarang Booma

Authentic Aboriginal handcrafted pair of Aboriginal clapsticks are made from the Black Wattle tree and painted in traditional dot art.Ā These clapsticks are hand-made and painted by Joshua K skeen, a fourth generation Aboriginal from the Kuku Thaypan and Birri Gubba tribes of Far North Queensland.

Clapsticks, also spelt clap sticks and also known as bilma, bimli, clappers, musicstick or just stick, are a traditional Australian Aboriginal instrument. They serve to maintain rhythm in voice chants, often as part of an Aboriginal ceremony.

These clapsticks are a great Australian Aboriginal gift.Ā
